Statement from RNIB Three Spires Academy:

Post date: Wednesday, 18 July 2018

Rob Jones, Head Teacher at RNIB Three Spires, said:

“We are sincerely sorry for the offence that has been caused by two staff members at RNIB Three Spires. We agree with Ms Bromley that their behaviour is unacceptable and it goes completely against the values of the school and of our sponsor, RNIB. RNIB Three Spires should be a safe and welcoming place for all students and we’re saddened that our school community has been let down by this behaviour.

“Our Chair of Governors has personally investigated the issue and has spoken to Ms Bromley directly to let her know that her complaint has been upheld. So that appropriate action can now be taken, RNIB has launched an internal investigation and will take whatever action is necessary to make sure this does not happen again. RNIB has a code of professional conduct that all staff members are expected to adhere to, and steps will be taken to make sure all staff are fully aware of the standards that are expected of them.”

Eliot Lyne, Interim CEO, RNIB, said:

“I’m really disappointed to hear about the incident at RNIB Three Spires and have spoken to Ms Bromley to give her a personal apology. There is no place for behaviour like this in any part of RNIB and we expect all our staff to act professionally and kindly at all times. I would like to assure Ms Bromley that we are taking this very seriously and will do everything we can to make sure the investigation is completed promptly.”
