Our Blue class has 11 children, all with different and complex learning needs. Our Class Teacher is Dianne. The Teaching Assistants are Vikki, Jo and June.
Staff help and support pupils to make the very best progress and follow our rules which help us access learning. Our rules are:

Learners follow our semi-formal curriculum, which is delivered primarily through a thematic based approach. Thematic learning is a holistic, integrated teaching approach that promotes wider coverage of the curriculum through variety of interconnected activities. The curriculum is designed to be fun, engaging practical and meaningful and matched to pupil learning and developmental needs. designed to support learners for whom subject base learning would not be appropriate.

Monitoring of your child’s progress is essential to ensure that they are making good progress. Observations are used to plan further activities and learning steps. The Early learning pathway will be used to support assessment about children’s learning and development and to monitor children’s progress throughout.
In Blue class we have a total communication friendly environment. Children will use a range of objects to help make their own choices, preferences, wants, likes and dislikes independently. These include:
